Thinning and Selective Pruning

Thinning is taking out 10% only of branches of a well-established tree.

Selective Pruning involves removing dead or diseased growth. It can also include removing unwanted direction of growth. This includes shoots and suckers (i.e. branches growing from damaged roots)

Reduction and Formative Pruning

Reduction pruning is bringing down the natural height of a particular small tree, brush or shrub to your liking.
Formative pruning consists of pruning, shaping and hedge trimming to your liking.
We can also advise on the best way to prune your garden. Our advice is free!

Crown Lifting

Crown lifting is pruning branches from underneath to raise the canopy height of a tree, showing the stem or trunk with a level line of foliage at the base.

Pollarding

Pollarding is only effective on a few species and involves harsh pruning. The tree or bush that is to undergo pollarding is pruned back to the same point each year and at the same time each year.

Powerline Clearance

We can clear branches from within 500cm of electrical, phone and powerlines.
Clearing of overhanging tree limbs from any type of structure (house building etc) is also not a problem.

Palm Maintenance

Palm Maintenance is removing dead or yellowing fronds from any type of palm tree.
It also includes removing seed pods (those pesky orange balls) and blossoms before they form and open.
Removal of these items before they become a problem reduces mess and reduces the likelihood of someone slipping on the berries.

Small Trees and Stump Removal (We can also arrange large tree removal)

Small tree and stump removal is removal of any species in your garden under 5m tall. This is the limit according to local council.
Small stump removal is done by hand - digging and removing the stump and all connected roots.
We can quote and arrange any size tree for complete removal and assist in getting council approval.

Transplanting and Advice

We can take existing plants, trees, shrubs, bushes, palms etc and transplant to another part of your garden.
We are also able to tranfer and transplant all the above items to a different property if you are moving home.
We are happy to give you advice on new plants, trees etc for your garden as well.
